Roscoe

Developed by history doctoral student and technologist Bob Pasker, Roscoe is a machine learning system that enables both legal and non-legal historians to engage with case law as a historical source.

Drawing on a public-domain archive of over eight million digitized appellate court decisions from all American jurisdictions, Roscoe moves beyond traditional keyword search to support conceptual exploration and computational analysis of legal texts. This talk will introduce Roscoe's capabilities and consider its implications for historical and interdisciplinary research.
